Tips for Dining, Eating and Food Shopping in Miami and Ft. Lauderdale

Miami food tour anyone?

Hello! I'm doing some research and am trying to find a guided food tour of Miami. Does anyone know of any? I can't seem to find any through the traditional routes. Thanks!

    1. Here's a website with a "self-guided tour" of the Redlands

      http://www.redlandriot.com/

Williams Grove (affiliated with Fairchild Tropical Garden) also apparently has guided tours of the Grove which can be arranged in advance.

It reads like they are inquiring about a guided food tour of restaurants??

I think this website and simply doing a search in this area is a good start for info. Frod also posted a tops list compilation of threads related to tops for dining in Miami, see below:

(getting better at searching this site myself!)

Actually, the original reply was correct. I have a food and wine tour website. I'm going to be in Miami in a few weeks and was looking for a food tour to go on and add to my site, but I haven't been able to find any.

Thanks for the "best" list though - nice link for me personally.

sorry for misunderstanding, checkout Slow Food Miami. Last year they did an interesting event, Michael Schwartz participated in it where they toured several different farms for a dining event over the course of a season. And they do interesting events throughout the year.

another one to checkout is Paradise Farms at paradisefarms.net, and Redland Organics who do a veggie share and eggshare at http://www.redlandorganics.com/, not sure they are tour related, but you never know you could develop something with these organizations, hope this is more helpful!

also, check out www.paradisefarms.net, for the Dinner in Paradise series

Pretty sure the Slow Foods event was one of several "Dinners in Paradise" put together by (and at) Paradise Farms. Those are now over for the season. In any event they are dinners w/ dishes done by several local chefs, not a tour.

that's why I suggested she contact them since it is not tour related, as you never know they might be inclined to promote themselves as such and create an itinerary around that idea.

i wish we had a food tour here like they do in NYC and elsewhere! unfortunately as far as I know there are no such organized, guided tours taking you thru certain food neighborhoods and whatnot..frankly that's because we really don't have ethnic food neighborhoods exccept little havana, i guess..
