AYCE Korean BBQ Rating Scale 1 2 3

Yes, you can tell me to do a search.. I have done so! Seems everyone has their favorites. Perhaps you can pick your top 3 and rate them 1 being the best of the 3 and so on.. I have been to a Parks, Choshun, Soot Bull Jeep but have never been to an AYCE. So I thought that this would be a handy exercise for all..

Gotta say, after going to Park's again yesterday I'll never do AYCE again. The quality difference is too much to bear.

      1) Soot bul Gui Rim
      2) Si Gol
No third. I like SBGR better than many other nonAYCE joints because it uses charcoal fire. Also the selection includes quite a few organ meats... yummy.

        1) New Seoul (Garden Grove)
        2) Soot Bul Gui Rim (K-town)
        3) Mu Dang San (K-town)

I completely agree with wilafur's choices.

Manna is the worst . I really didn't like Tahoe all three times I went. I didn't care much for Wharo (in the Chapman plaza).

As an added plus, Soot Bull Gui Rim also has the steamed egg dish (gyeran jjim) and cold noodles (naengmyun)

Is that included in the AYCE price?

Hey wil (aka AYCE master), have you tried the tongue at SBGR? I've been meaning to, but haven't had the chance.........

is it marinated (a la manpuku style)?

Having had Tahoe's galbi a la carte on one day and returning for the all-you-can-eat on the next day, I can safely say that the AYCE version of the galbi was tougher and greyer and overall of lesser quality. However, for $17 it's still a great deal.

Just a word of caution... most of the meats on Tahoe's AYCE menu are very low quality frozen shaved meat. The galbi and (I think) bulgogi were fresh.
