Places in Canada claiming to serve "soul food" almost always are serving Jamaican instead. No African Americans means no soul food. That's what happens when you don't have a history of slavery followed by de facto apartheid.

I had to actually wiki soul food, turns out I did not really know the true meaning of it.

I also googled soul food edmonton and there is a place on the north side called Rose's Soul Food Restaurant.

Let me know if you get there, I would be interested to know if it is any good.
