One night in Providence, need a rec I can't miss

  • 8

I'm coming up to Providence this week on business for 1 night. I'm staying at the Westin. I've been there a few times, and eaten at Capital Grille and the restaurant next door, of which I can not remember the name.

I am looking for the best places you can recommend that I can't miss. I would prefer to have a place I can eat at the bar, any type of food.

Thanks!

  1. Try Chez Pascal. Amazing. If you search this board, you'll see that it is a favorite here. Assuming you have a car....but if not, you could take a cab. It's wonderful.

    1. Next door to C.G. would be Raphael's which just closed.
If you prefer to stay downtown, try Gracie's.

Yes, it was Raphael's....wow, it just closed? I ate there once or twice in the past and it was fantastic. Great location has anything opened in its place?

Not yet, though I'd imagine there should be interested parties looking into it!

      2. Chez Pascal is closed on Mon. but worth seeking out. Not sure on the hours but Gracies as well as New Rivers. La Laiterie closed Mon and Tues but well worth it.

          1. La Laiterie in Wayland Square. Great neighborhood bistro, small, always people there, which you might appreciate on a Monday night, whereas Chez Pascal or Gracies might be a bit dead. Excellent food, interesting beer selection, wonderful cheese plates.

            1. I ended up choosing Al Forno. It was awesome! Great food, service, atmosphere, and reasonably priced. Most important my meal was delicious. Highly recommended!
