Vegetarian food w/o cilantro

Hello all,

OK, so we have houseguests. And while one of them is a very adventurous eater (as am I), another guest is a vegetarian with allergies to cilantro and seedy cousin coriander. Naturally, this throws a bit of a wrench into many vegetarian stand-bys, like Indian food, for example. I'm just wondering if you folks have some good ideas for vegetarian food that doesn't involve these herbs and spices. We're westside LA dwellers, though not necessarily wedded to our immediate location.

Thanks in advance!

There's always Italian and Thai food which have many vegetarian options. Also, a branch of M Cafe d Chaya just opened in Culver City; that's a macrobiotic/vegan eatery which has a location in Hollywood as well. It's just slightly west of Pacifico, the chain-y Mexican fish place.

I like Native Foods in Westwood. There are a couple of items that contain cilantro, notably the Gandhi Bowl, but it isn't a staple of their food. It's very casual but I think they're delicious.

There are great vegetarian options at Shamshiri Grill on Westwood that don't contain cilantro to my knowledge. That has the bonus of having meat options for everyone else.

Real Food Daily is another vegan option in Santa Monica that's got some pretty tasty fare.

Newsroom on Roberston (NOT the SM location) has lots of good options...and a full bar! (Just in case that matters.) Also, any Greek place...
