Visiting Montreal 1st week in July

Arriving July 1st with my Man for a birthday (mine) holiday. We love eating outdoors when the weather permits. I would love recommendations for French and local cuisine restaurants for lunch and dinner. The "BIG" night if someone could steer us to something special and maybe a little or a lot romantic I'm sure he would thank you. If it helps we are staying at the Hotel Gault, 449, rue Sainte-Hélène. Really, I would appreciate your help.

You may get more responses if you narrow down your criteria - what you want to spend, whether or not you'll have a car, what you like and don't like, etc... and please spend a bit of time perusing the threads on this board, which will probably answer most of your questions.
