Visiting Montreal 1st week in July

Tothfairy May 9, 2008 01:25 PM

Arriving July 1st with my Man for a birthday (mine) holiday. We love eating outdoors when the weather permits. I would love recommendations for French and local cuisine restaurants for lunch and dinner. The "BIG" night if someone could steer us to something special and maybe a little or a lot romantic I'm sure he would thank you. If it helps we are staying at the Hotel Gault, 449, rue Sainte-Hélène. Really, I would appreciate your help.

There have been some great threads recently:

For inexpensive places not to miss:

For Bring your own wine restaurants: Montreal is very well known for excellent BYOW, the food can be very high quality, and it is fun to buy a really nice bottle or 2 and have a nice meal to match it.

Here is a thread with multiple links to other threads for romantic places to eat, and some of the must eat places. This is a fairly recent thread so all of these recs are still valid:

Feel free to peruse these threads, and come back with any questions. Have a great trip!

You may get more responses if you narrow down your criteria - what you want to spend, whether or not you'll have a car, what you like and don't like, etc... and please spend a bit of time perusing the threads on this board, which will probably answer most of your questions.
