Chef's Table/Cafe Gary worth it?

Hi all,
We are taking a few close friends out for a celebration dinner (wedding reception), and would love to do something special. I have researched so much now my face is turning blue... I am considering Cafe Gary as they seem to have a nice chef's table. Since it is quite a splurge for us ($225/person), just want to know if I am making the right choice. Please help!

Somewhere with casual elegant decor would be great (though I have yet to visit cafe Gary), went to EMP and thought it was slightly too fancy.

10-12 guests, early 30s, architect/designers
Budget: $200/ person
Cuisine: anything except Italian and Japanese
Tasting menu or chef's table

Thank you in advance!

Thought it was a typo, but since you used it throughout... it is Cafe Gray, chef Gray Kunz.

Maybe there is a Cafe Gary. Cafe Kenny. Cafe Jimmy.

Cafe Gray is a nice choice. Be advised, they are closing for good soon so make sure your date is before then.
