According to their website (josscuisine.com) they should have opened several months ago.

Funny I just spoke to my friend yesterday. He's the close of friend of the woman who owned Joss and he said she's opening on little SM this month. Joss on Melrose was a gem so I'm quite excited about this reopening.

I drove by today and it's still got paper covering all the windows. The location is on an underserved stretch of Little Santa Monica west of Wilshire, across the street and down the block from the Friar's Club. This is a stretch that has never had much to offer in the way of food choices, excluding the Peninsula of course--I can still recall being stuck in traffic school one Saturday at Beverly Hills High and wandering down this road hopelessly looking for something decent for lunch. Parking can be problematic in that area as well. But it will be nice if they can pull it off. The website menu pages say that they will have a rotating menu with food similar to what they had at the old Joss on Sunset, but with fewer choices given the smaller kitchen and seating at this new location. I liked Joss very much in its early days--clearly Americanized, but the food was quite well done. Later on it didn't always hold up. Let's hope for the best.

Joss is now just like acne on a high school freshman ... an annoyance that just won't go away.

Yes, the address is 9919 Santa Monica Blvd., and as PayOrPlay states, it is in that stretch near the Friar's Club between Century City and the BH triangle. However, the posting notice only went up on April 1, 2008, so they probably will not be able to sell any alcohol until at least the middle-end of June, so they may not be in a rush to open until then. This should be a more accessible location to the one they had on Sunset in Weho that closed about two or so years ago. Cecile Tang is still involved as are other people.

My 18 year old daughter's middle name is Joss and named after the restaurant. I hope they still serve the wonderful Peking (Beijng) Duck that they did before they closed on Sunset.

The Peking Duck will still be served at the new location as well as many of the old menu.

Joss Cuisine will be opening on August 9, 2008. If you have any questions or if you would like to make reservations call us at 310.277.3888. The restaurant is a lot smaller than the old one but we will try to reserve the great service and food quality the old Joss had. Most of the vegetables will be organic. We also offer organic beef by request. Just give us a call if you have any questions. A two-year project nearly coming to an end. Beverly Hills isn't the easiest place to open a restaurant. A lot of rules and regulations to follow. If you have any questions just give us a call.
