Wife's 40th Birthday in MSP
I'm planning to host a 40th birthday party for my wife in September (may or may not be surprise, depends on logistics). I'm looking for a fun, casual place that can hold approx 65 people for drinks and light appetizers - Minneapolis or St Paul preferred. I currently have a call into The Happy Gnome (based on an earlier wedding thread), but need more recommendations...
Thanks in advance!

Chatterbox Pub in Highland Village. They have a separate room you can rent and I believe the fee is nominal. Guests can play the board games or the "old" video games.
Otherwise, on 7th street is DiGidio's and they have a back room (not a super fun atmosphere though) and I've heard that there is a space above Glockenspeil that can be rented.
The basement room at WA Frost is also a nice venue.

re: whoopdido
I hate to be a downer, but the food at the Highland Park location is pretty awful. "Just plain gross" according to Batman http://www.chowhound.com/topics/50218... I'm not a fan of the food at the Happy Gnome, either, but at least they have a nice patio.
