Hi All
My wife and I are spending a weekend in Monarch beach at the St. Regis and looking for some help for a group dinner for Saturday night . I know there's some great places at the St. Regis but I wouldn't want to force nor do we want Price to be an issue.
We'll be dinning with 3 other couples and would like a place that has both fresh fish and some great steaks, views would be a plus. I really don't know my way around the area so any help would be great.

Any suggestions for something nearby or taxi close?

Thanks,

40ish per entree I know wine and cocktails throw of the equation but I'll be bringing some nice bottles.
Thanks

at $40 per entree, i'd suggest staying at the st regis and dining at stonehill tavern. iirc, all the entrees were price in the mid to upper 30's with only a couple dishes being over $40.

service is very good as is the presentation. they have a dover sole and halibut on the menu, not counting the daily specials (monkfish was the special when i dined there).

they also have a great (so i've heard) tasting menu as well.

I agree. If ~$40 is the price per entree you want stay around, you might as well eat at Stonehill Tavern.

The monkfish was $35 when I went a few months ago. Berkshire Pig was $37.

Here's my meal in pictures (with more prices in the write up):
