Anyone tried Mexico DF lately?

Saw it getting mixed reviews when new, but looked interesting. Not overly worried about price (unless a blatant rip off which it didn't sound like). Would love to find a great nice Mexican restaurant in the city similar to Frontera or Salpicon in Chicago. Thanks

I was just there yesterday for lunch, first-time visit. Carnitas was fantastic: moist and crisp at the same time, served with handmade tortillas, guacamole, and two salsas, of which I preferred the spicer green chile over a sweeter red chile. I also tried nopales/chayote salad and a corn/purslane/queso salad: both a little oily but well-balanced in flavors and textures. I'd definitely go back. Never tried those places in Chicago, though, so can't compare.

I also just went this past weekend, also tried the carnitas - very good. Got the half pound, and, looking at the plate when it came out, thought it may not be enough, but it turned out to be plenty.

Started with the potato cakes as an appetizer, had a fantastic spicy chipotle sauce. Also had a couple of their margaritas, but they didn't seem to stand out.

It was surprisingly empty for a restaurant in SF on a Saturday night - at most 2/3 full while I was there.
