West Indian Burnt Sugar (browning)

Any ideas how to use this product that I just picked up in the International Section of my local supermarket?

  1. I'm pretty sure that this is used when sauting chicken to help carmelize and give it a rich brown color.

    1. Bottled burnt sugar is used most frequently in West Indian Rum cake (goes by many names like Black Cake, Wedding Cake Christmas Cake etc.).
