Peeled, halved butternut squash?

I have yet to find a single market that sells peeled, halved butternut squash. every other city seems to sell it. if someone knows where to find this elusive food, please let me know. preferably on the east side, but i will travel anywhere to find it. thanks!

  1. Does it have to be peeled and halved? I've seen peeled and prepped chunks of butternut squash but not ones that are left intact. I think they figure if you want it peeled, you probably want it chunked up too.

Back in Boston you could find it peeled and squashed at many markets. I like cooking it without the skin because it gets extra crispy. Any leads?

      Thanks for your help!

      1. I've never seen peeled and halved butternut squash. But I have seen it peeled and chunked at Whole Foods and Trader Joe's.

        1. If you're going to roast halves you don't want it peeled. Slice it in half, scoop out the seeds , place on a tray cut side down and roast. Comes out of the skin very easily when it is cooked and it doesn't dry out as it would if roasted without skin
