Saturday brunch in downtown Pittsburgh

Hi there,

I am visiting from the Boston board, and looking for recommendations for a venue for our wedding rehearsal brunch. It will be on a Saturday in the fall, and we need to stay in downtown Pittsburgh. I am looking for a clean, casual brunch/lunch place that serves quality food and has a pleasant ambience, and that can handle a table of about 20-25.

Thanks in advance,
Jill

From my experience brunch in Pittsburgh seems to be a Sunday only affair. I'm not sure you'll find a lot of options during the lunch hour on a weekend in downtown Pittsburgh. I'd recommend Lidia's in the Strip District which is 5-8 minutes from downtown. They can certainly accommodate your table. Please note that I've always had excellent meals there as have plenty of others, but there are a few posters that didn't like Lidia's.

Agree with all of this. I just want to mention that Lidia's has a nice balcony that may be available to you. I don't know what they require to use that space, but it won't hurt to ask.

Six Penn opens on 3pm on Saturdays but they are really flexible for large parties. You may want to give them a call and see if they would accomodate your party anyway. They rent out the upstairs and make terrific bloody mary's.
