Puglia: I like the Il Falcone from Rivera. The grape is Uva di Troia. If this ends up being costly for you, of difficult to find, I recommend the Cappellaccio Aglianico Riserva, or possibly a Terrarossa from Picchieri (Primitivo grape).
Abruzzo: I recently discovered I Perazzi, a very good and reasonably-priced Morellino di Scansano.
