Thousand Cranes reviews??

I'm planning on taking my family out to Thousand Cranes and reserved a tatami mat room for our family of five. I've read on the board that after the ownership change at the beginning of the year, things have gone downhill in terms of the service, quality, etc. and am a little concerned. Can anyone elaborate on the dining experience there?

I'm hoping that it isn't true...

JG's specifically talking about the tempura bar, though. At least that should be good!

I've read the article, but i'm not interested in the tempura bar for this particular event... i'm looking more towards the kaiseki dinner.

any other helpful suggestions?
