India Palace is very good--on Amherst St. Vietnam Noodle House for a good bowl of pho. Thon Khao for Thai--not bad (I'm picky--grew up in Bangkok). Cedars makes a nice falafel. Seedling Cafe has many vegetarian options.

Where is Cedar's, been wanting a great falafel since our Paris trip?

I love India Palace as well - food is excellent, ambiance very nice.

It's in that shopping mall with Applebees & MarketBasket at the corner of Amherst St and Somerset Parkway (you can access by either exit 7 or 8 off the Everett). No comparison to l'As du Falafel, but good in a pinch.

I had a marvelous falafel in Harvard Sq., opposite the Charles Hotel, near the IHOP. Growing up in Detroit/Dearborn, there are many many Arab shops, restaurants, etc. and I really enjoyed this place. Sorry, don't remember the name. Not much on ambience but delicous food. I'd get the food to go and picnic by the Charles River.
