Burlington, N.C. or closeby

We are looking for a restaurant for Mothers Day, lunch, somewhere between Raleigh and Winston-Salem. Burlington would be the best b/c it's halfway.

We do not want Barbeque as we don't eat pork. If we were to go in Winston, we would probably choose Village Tavern or a Thai restaurant my Mom likes.

If in Raleigh, maybe Zest, Jibara, or Lemongrass.

  1. I dont know of many good rests in Burlington but I would try the Chop House Grille for the Mothers Day Buffet- 11:00-3:00.

I have not eaten at this particular restaurant but have eaten at the one in G'boro and the food is very good. Not sure what is on the MD buffet but you can call 336 524 9941.

    1. Try B. Christopher's, B's Bistro or Benjamin's Seafood Room. All owned by the same chef, all very good. For MD I'd definitely call about reservations. Website is

All of those restaurants are usually closed on Sundays but may be open special for Mother's Day.

Because of Sunday limitations, we often take out of town guests to El Carbonero in Graham on Hwy 87 between Burlington & Graham. It is Salvadorean with pupusas, good fish, good soups, and a Horchata that is more peanutty that I am used to. The atmosphere may be too rustic for a nice Mother's Day luncheon, but on Sundays the pickings can be slim in Alamance County.

Thanks for the suggestion also, thier website looks great. I guess I'll ask Mom what she prefers. Looks like the Bistro is open Sunday.
