Sour Cherry syrup in SF

This is one of those weirdly specific requests ...

Does anybody know of any Eastern European or Middle Eastern markets
in Berkeley or Eastern SF [Pot Hill, Bernal, Noe, Mission ... Tenderloin etc]
that stocks the vaguely Torani-like fruit syrups?

I found some at the Middle Eastern place down the block from Romolo's
in San Mateo as well as that the Russian Sausage mart out on Clement
[European Foods] ... but those are not real convenient to my location ...
I assume these are common products. The brands were "Adriatic" and
"Belvedere" ... at least sour cherry, blueberry, and raspberry flavors.
At $4.50-$5, they are cheeper than the Toranis, as well.

ok tnx,

  1. Adronicos carries one of the italian syrups.
Cost Plus has cheap Torani for close to $5.

Don't think either have a location in the proximity you mentioned, but thought I'd mention it just in case.

There's also a middle eastern spice shop/butcher with halal meats on Geary and Jones, that carries some very random items, and I think I may have seen it there.

    1. I'm not sure whether they carry these particular syrups, but you should take a look at Samiramis Imports. They have a huge inventory and do carry a lot of drink syrups.

      1. I think I've seen it at Indus Foods and Euromix.

indus foods does have the belvedere, adriatic and "zergut" brand
syrups, including sour cherry, black currant, blackberry and blueberry.
[and a few more non-standard flavors]

          attractively priced at $3.99.

I'm always impressed by Indus's selection and prices. They sell the Zergut hot ajvar I like for 30-40% less than I've seen it elsewhere (but like everyone else tend to sell out of that particular item). Great lamb, too.

        2. Definitely saw Darbo syrups at Lehr's German Specialties. I think I also saw other syrups. It's on Church across from Incanto, so it's closer than the joints out Geary street.

Edited to add: I think they carry jarred sour cherries, and I'm pretty sure I bought some after noticing the price was better than the Made in France warehouse sale prices for sour cherries.

          1. Hey everyone, thanks for the pointers! I was pretty sure
at least some of these neighborhood mkts would keep the fruit syrups.

I'll start trying these out beginning with Samiramis.

If you do end up heading over to Rendez-Vous on Solano, you can find both the syrup and the jam about a block away at Saffron Gourmet.
