Looking for a fish market in Boston Area

Hi,

Me and my roommates are graduating in a couple of weeks and we are planning a champagne dinner with +/- 30 people; everybody will provide the champagne we will provide the food.

We are looking for a fish market where we can buy super ultra fresh fish (as some of the things we are doing are eaten raw) and some oysters/clams.

We are willing to travel outside Boston, so please send me your recommendations regarding buying whole fish, seafood, and clams/oysters.

Thanks!!!!!

I just got back from both New Deal and Courthouse.

You could really flip a coin as to which is better..both excellent quality and service.

New Deal slightly stronger towards weekends for sashimi/sushi type items.

Both had lots of unusual whole fish.

Im gonna throw another option out there. although I agree with New Deal

The fish pier in South Boston. my fav things about it
        1. always that days, nothing left over from the day before
        2. the deliver the raw stuff!
        3. you can call them two days in advance (for a party your size, one day for house hold dinner) and tell them what you want and how many, they go down every morning and pick out FRESH stuff. so they will simply pick up what you need as well.

For an event like this, consider New Deal on Cambridge Street in East Cambridge. You could walk from Lechmere or park a car on the street.

You absolutely want New Deal. The large Asian clientele buying fish for sashimi points to the quality. I hear that Dice-K gets his fish there! (Well, not him, but his peeps)

Captain Mardens in Wellesley. They can get the best of everything available and will work with you if you check in with them in advance.
