Fresh Mint Cafe - Scottsdale

I saw an opening for a new "healthy" restaurant called Fresh Mint Cafe, or something like that, in the shopping center on the NW corner of Scottsdale Rd. and Thunderbird. Does anyone know anything about it?

    1. JUst got back from here.. its pretty darn amazing! I had the Kung Pao Soy Chick, delish! Also tried the Imperial Roll noodles.. amazingly light and fresh! Plus she put some Thai chiles in there.. my mouth is on fire!! Good stuff!!

      1. Anyone else try this place yet? I'll probably give it a go next week, but just curious if any more thoughts.

        Is it entirely veg?

I tried it, tonight. I didn't see any meat on the menu. It might even be vegan. They had tofu, fake chicken, fake beef, even fake fish.

My meal of Lemongrass Curry Japanese Eggplant appeared to be vegan. I loved it. It came with a choice of brown or jasmine rice.

If this is your thing, get out and support this place. It was empty at 6:00pm on this Saturday night.

we dined there on friday night and just came to the board looking for reviews. i was told the menu was entirely vegan save for one appetizer, which was just vegetarian. we also got the kung pao soy chicken and the lemongrass beef with noodles. the kung pao was a chef specialty and i appreciated that it came with portion of plain steamed veggies that also looked pretty when on the plate. we also got the dessert of fried bananas which was so yummy because it came over sweet coconut milk and tapioca with a half strawberry and slice of pineapple garnished with mint. best vegan dessert in town. hands down! i just wish it were closer to central phoenix because i would eat there more often..

Thanks for the updates, sounds interesting. I'm hoping they do take-out, and I can swing by and give it a try when I get a chance.

I never thought of getting dessert at this place, but, I was really hungry, so I got this mango tapioca thing. I had low expectations, but, it blew me away. Now, I can't imagine going to Fresh Mint and not getting dessert.

I've never gotten dessert but I'll try it --- I'm usually stuffed after the lemongrass tofu dish I usually get. I'm really glad this place is still here, the food is fantastic & the staff is really nice.

            2. Haven't gone yet but I work by it. One warning, its quite expensive. Its in a space that could get lots of lunch crowd, but I wasn't going to spend $15 for lunch. The menu matches what A fine dinner restaurant would have, but if you are going to spend that, do you want to sit in a place that looks like a taco shack? When ever I passed by, its always empty. I think they should either get some lunch type selections with lunch pricing, or move to a real dinner restaurant location. As it stands now, this place will be gone in a few months, if not sooner.

I couldn't disagree with you more. I had lunch here today for the second day in a row. It is absolutely delightful. The lunch menu features specials for $8.00 that include rice and salad. Inside it is immaculate and very clean and both times I've been here there are diners- it's not empty. I'm very glad to have another vegetarian/vegan option; Fresh Mint has awesome food! Today I sampled the Mongolian Beef, Fried Rice, Pad Thai and Autumn Roll. I thought the Mongolian Beef was delicious and the Fried Rice was full of veggies and tofu and was not oily, which is a big plus for me. I think they will be sticking around for a while!

Yes, we had lunch specials when we went. Lots of food for the price (I don't remember how much but the $8 quoted by rxenergie sounds about right). Plenty of food plus leftovers.

And "taco shack" is a gross exaggeration. It's by no means fancy, but it's clean and pretty enough in a spare kind of way. Bright colors, lots of light if I remember correctly.

I really do urge everyone to give them a try. I'd love to see them succeed; they certainly deserve to judging from the food I had there.

              2. Do they do take-out? I work right around the corner and would love to try it.
