Foodie Spots near Commerce?

You aren't that far from Monterey Park which has an infinite number of amazing Asian food choices like Mandarin Noodle House, Elite Seafood, Lakespring, Gourmet Delight 501, NBC Seafood, Ocean Star, Lee Kam Kee, and all the dumpling places, and also Alhambra which has Hop Woo, Pho 79, Z Sushi, Twohey's, Fosselman's and some cute trendy places on Main Street (Cuban Bistro).

Commerce is only about 2.5 miles away from Taco Village in Montebello near the East LA border. They have my favorite carne asada in Los Angeles County and a fantastic salsa bar

Eeeeeeeeek. In a word, no, not really.

You're not very far from East LA (mmmm, Tacos Baja Ensenada), from Downey (mmmm, Dal Rae), from Whittier (mmmm, Golden Triangle) or from Norwalk (mmmm, Renu Nakorn).

I guess the best thing to say about Commerce is that it's not a far drive from things that are tasty. Which is really just damning with faint praise. I would, incidentally, love to be proven wrong, because sometimes the traffic is so heinous on the 5 that I get off at Telegraph and go through the area.

Dal Rae is akcherly in Pico Rivera. It's just east of Rosemead Blvd., I think on Slauson...unless it's Washington. I can never keep that straight. Either north or south of the tracks...

Thomas Guide is your friend...676/F6. Well over a mile north of Downey.

You're very much right, though, about Commerce being nicely located for going out and getting food somewhere else, and Downey, PR and Whittier all have some interesting choices.

I don't know if there are actually any restaurants at all in Commerce other than the Denny's on Triggs Street.

I like Dal Rae as much as the next gal but it's not exactly an everyday place, price-wise. Cool vibe though, and the food is better than you think it will be.
