I caught the latest episode of Good Eats on chiffon cupcakes, and noticed that AB was using a beefy new stand mixer. I guess the kitchenaid with the flame decals was put to rest.

I noticed the same thing, perhaps as new seasons are filmed they pick up new sponsors? I think the stand mixer is no longer a kitchenaid, perhaps it was a Viking?

I'm pretty sure it is a Viking. I remember noticing a while back that he had switched mixers (I miss the KitchenAide with the flames!) and did some stop/slow/pause magic with the Tivo to try and discern the brand of the "new guy". I think it's something along the lines of this: http://tinyurl.com/6xwob7

Good grief, that thing is a beast. With the right attachments, you could use it in a machine shop.
