Ame recommendations

Looking at Ame's menu is looking at an abundance of riches. Fantastic choices! So many appealing possibilities that I'd really love some help from this board. Which dishes are your favorites from each of the courses?

My husband and I happily share food with one another so we'll extend our tasting experience that way. We could also consider the tasting menu.

Thanks.

I ate there two years ago, and when I read this post my first thought was "deep fried Miyagi oysters." They were served on a leaf of butter lettuce and dotted with some wasabi flavored masago, and maybe a little aioli. A simple dish, but out of this world. The crust was hot and crispy and the center had been cooked just enough to be warm and creamy while still retaining a fresh ocean taste.

Any raw fish there will be delicious; just pick your favorite fish.

The cod is very good, but I eat a lot of sake/miso cod so it was great but not particularly memorable.

Same for the lobster chawan mushi. Yes, it's the most tender steamed egg dish I've ever encountered. At the same time, it's still just steamed egg. But then again, that's what I said about the oysters, and I'm still thinking about them two years later. It just depends what gets you going.

i eat the same meal every time because it's really that good: cuttlefish appetizer with quail egg (lisa's staff meal) and the black cod. I last ate there in december so i hope both items are still on the menu.
