ISO takeout pupusas

puppymomma May 3, 2008 07:35 AM

I'm looking for a place where I can sample some good pupusas. But I'm unfamiliar with the areas of the restaurants I get on a google search, so I'm hoping that someone can recommend a place in a safe area. I'm not scared to go to Chelsea, but I wonder if there are areas of Chelsea I should avoid. I've never been to Jamaica Plain, and I'm unsure of East Boston.

I'm coming from the Gardner area, so whatever is easy to reach (relatively) and in an area that I don't have to worry about.

Tacos Lupita in Somerville, delicious with the vinegary curtido (slaw like pickled cabbage, carrot and onion) and red tomato based sauce. Cheese or pork and cheese.

Much as I like the papusas at Tacos Lupita, the ones at Guanaca are better. If you're driving in from far away, you want the best.

Mi Puebilto in East Boston has good ones and there are 2 places on Moody Street in Waltham that have pretty good pupusa's too. Good luck and Enjoy!
