Special Dinner in Wilmington, NC

Going to Wilmington for a few weeks, and the visit will include an anniversary dinner. Past CH postings seem to point to Deluxe as the Bon Soiree/Magnolia Grill/Il Palio etc. "equivalent" but those postings were from a while ago. Suggestions appreciated.

Savannahs at Wrightsville Beach won Best Overall in the recent "Taste of Wilmington " voting. Well worth a try!

Thanks, Chowhounds, for the suggestions -- I'll report back in a few weeks.

I posted a reply to this earlier but it got deleted. This one might, too. But hopefully not. I'm editing one restaurant out that seems to possibly be causing problems.

Yes, Deluxe is still wonderful. One of my favorites for downtown dining. Good atmosphere, kind of hip upscale, with a nice view of downtown.
Also good is Zooi Bistro - excellent bar, wonderful french inspired food.
Mason's Haunt is a fairly new one that we like a lot. White tablecloth, fairly simple food, but fresh ingredients, good fish, and one of the best steaks I've had in town.
South Beach Grill is one of the best options on Wrightsville Beach. Not quite as intimate an atmosphere - a little small and crowded, but really great seafood.
Osteria Chichietti is nice Italian. A little more boisterous and loud, but still very pleasant. And the food is excellent.
