Croissant question

There used to be a wonderful croissant shop on Clybourn across from Treasurs island.Does anyone know if they moved to anoiher locaton? Their chocolate croissants were scrumptious.

  1. I believe you're referring to Vanille, at 2229 N. Clybourn. I haven't been by there lately so I don't know for sure that it is or isn't still there, but I would be surprised if they moved or closed. I hope it's still around; I really like it. Their croissants are quite good, their candies are okay, and where they really shine are their pastries. I love what they call their "entremets" (mousse cakes), pictured on their website, which is still up at

For those in the northern parts of the city and suburbs, I know that Vanille's entremets are available at Leonidas in Wilmette, and I don't know for sure but I think they supply the croissants there as well. Their almond croissants are equally fabulous.
