Vegas...Cafe Martorano

Has anyone been to Cafe Martorano recently? I've been reading some really negative older reviews. My mom was just there in April and loved it. She also didn't pay for it. Just wondering if it's possible they did a 360 degree change for the better. If anyone's been I would love to hear about your experience. Thanks

    I dined at Cafe Martorano this week....and loved it. I did all the internet research before going and was convinced I was going to dislike everything about it...mainly their snotty attitudes but I was going as a guest of someone with a comp so I decided the risk was worth it. It wasn't as loud as I was expecting but it was also Sunday evening...I hear it can get pretty hectic after 9pm on Fri/Sat. When they first opened last year there was no printed menu, only verbal. That can be dangerous...especially here. Everything is relatively expensive. My veal chop was $68 but it was amazing. The pasta dishes range from $25-50ish. The calamari was superb. Would I go back without a comp? Definitely....

      thank you so much for this review. You have put my mind at ease. I know I won't be paying for the meal but I still didn't want the attitude or to feel I was being ripped off. One last question. I heard all of the portions are huge and can be split. Did you find that to be the case?

        The portions are large in some cases, and not so in others. The meatballs, which they're supposedly famous for, are listed as an appetizer. It’s three average sized meatballs served with salad and is $25. The cheesesteak (also listed as an appetizer) is $18 and about 6 inches. The calamari appetizer was large...they prepare it 2 different ways...I think we had the grilled version and it was excellent. My veal chop was HUGE (16 oz) and served with sautéed baby spinach with garlic & oil as well as risotto....that's something easily split. The pasta dishes were huge as well. One friend had the sea bass and it was excellent; another friend had the Lobster Francese and I thought it was too rich...one bite for me was plenty. Please let us know how your experience is.

            Well I have to say that I really enjoyed it. The food was great, very traditional. I would go back again in a heartbeat.
