FFD County Farmers Markets New Vendors and

which one is your favorite, why and what is the best thing you get there? Stamford is my least favorite and I am upset by the vendors they have, not enough variety. Anybody know about new vendors coming to the farmers markets around here?

  1. I don't know about "new" vendors, but here is my favorite at the Westport/Fairfield FM:

    Two Guys from Woodbridge, Hamden
certified organic salad greens, lettuce bouquets, herbs

The best, freshest, huge assortment of lettuces I've seen anywhere. As my name states...I really do love arugula...can't get enough of it.

    1. stamford's farmers market is pathetic. I think it might have gotten better in the past few years, but it's not worth it to me. I love the greenwich farmers market. Saturdays from 9:30 to sometime early afternoon.

As for new vendors... won't know until it opens, but my favorites are the honey vendor (adam's CT honey, or something like that). the organic farmer (only one) if I'm feeling rather flush with cash. Their produce is great and they have more variety as well. But the other three big produce vendors are all very good too. They all seem to pretty much grow the same produce. I tend to shop most at the one closest to the train station. Nice folks.

Adam, it is your honey? I love New Canaan's market, what is up with Stamford's. I really don't understand why we don't have the best with the population of hopefully people wanting a greener life? Have you ever gone to the one in New Have, they have oysters, clams, cheese, lamb, candles etc... very good and live music. I need that here in Stamford. I wonder who I can call to see how we can improve it.

nope. Not my honey, but if I'm remembering the name correctly, it's a good one!

New Haven market sounds great... kind of like the really good ones out West.

It is Andrew's Local Honey, and it is terrific! The website for the company is I have several bottles at home.

thanks! Adam, Andrew, close right? (I'm either an egomaniac or just senile)

And, I agree with the honey, I always get some when I'm low. It's wonderful honey.
