Any good Trader Joe's wines lately?

Want to make a trip to Trader Joe's and stock up on some wines. I'm thinking white. I bought a nice Italian white last time I was there for, I think $4.99 or so. It was very good...sorry I didn't buy more.
Who's gotten some good buys from TJs? I've been through all the "Chuck" and don't care for it.
Has anyone bought a good petite sirah? I'd like to fill up my wine racks. Nothing too expensive..talking everyday wines here.
Thanks!

I have one for you to stay away from. It was a French Ugni~Viognier blend. Disgusting nose, and the taste was worse. Fusel oil. Blecch.

Thanks, Jason. Went to Trader Joes in Westfield, NJ (the only one fairly near us with wine -- 40 min. drive). Were out of Epicuro Aglianico and said they didn't carry a lot of them...some we have tried and didn't care for. Did find the Bogle Petite Sirah, Alan, but it's $10, not $7. Look forward to trying it. Not big on California wines, but do like petite sirah.

Sorry to hear you didn't care for some but curious as to which...I would recommend the Carmenere whole heartedly and if you are a Pinot Fan the Castle Rock Monterrey County bottling should be well up your alley!

Funny on the Bogle, I thought the price was off there and was at TJ's today and confirmed the $10 price tag. Anyhow!

          Cheers!

Did not care for the Concha y Toro, Callaway Califor. Chard, either. Couldn't find the Castle Rock -- maybe next time. I'll check your blog for new postings! Always nice to try a wine someone recommends. Too bad Westfield has yucky byo restos, though. Went to Isabella's when we couldn't get into Mojave Grille last night....ugh!

Try the Bogle Petite Sirah. I think TJs sells it for $7, but may be mistaken.

I picked up a couple for Wine Blogging Wednesday last week.
An absolute steal was Ulrich Langguth Riesling (Germany) for only $5.99, and the Trimbach Alsace Riesling for $15.99 was also delicious (light and crisp, and similar to a Sav Blanc).

          Enjoy!

Estancia & Firestone Chards. in the $8 -10 range are dependably good and available. Wild Horse Merlot at about $ 9 a fair buy.
