top of my list at the end of a may visit. where should i eat after the tour? i won't have a car but i'm pretty good at navigating mass transit.

deb and i are fond of decent food. on average, we spend a month or so in europe and a similar amount of time in asia in a year's time. we're not looking for great food, just good food served in a comfortable place. cost is not an issue, just good food in a comfortable place.

thanks in advance. we'll report back.

Be sure to eat first; after you won't care. They give you a lot of vodka to taste. I can't remember which BART station St. George's is running the shuttle from, but suggest you eat near there or near another BART stop.

There's nothing within walking distance out by the distillery, and waiting for public transit might take the better part of a day.

I didn't see anything about a BART shuttle on their website. However, the 63 runs every half hour, even on weekends. If you're starting anywhere near the transbay terminal you can take the O and then transfer to the 63 on Webster St.; or you can take the 63 from Fruitvale BART (kinda slow, though), or you can take BART to 12th St, take a 51 (which runs frequently) into Alameda and then catch the 63 for the last little bit. On Webster I'd recommend Otaez for Mexican or East Ocean for Chinese (dim sum if you get there before 2 pm).

They've mentioned it in their newsletter. I think it's weekend afternoons. Worth a call, since it's synchronized with the tours.
