Jerusalem suggestions?

Hello, I will spend a few nights in Jerusalem, ahving never been to Israel before. I am Jewish by origin but not religious and do not keep kosher.

I am looking for these things in Jerusalem:
- guided culinary tour of Jerusalem with some one who can explain the origins of the food, talk about the spices, take me to several neighbourhoods (both Jewish and Arab)....
- good restaurants using local dishes and local produce with prices which are not sky-high
- stands with food, markets and similar
- some weird specialities and where to get them

Thank you very much. Best regards,
Alexandra

Machaneh Yehuda for the stands you are looking for. It is a huge market.

I live in Jerusalem but am not particulary well-versed in spices or different foods to be able to give a culinary tour :(. Where I live (Talpiot near the Industrial Zone) is not touristy and there are lots of workers, so the prices are cheaper and the food less catered to tourists' tastes.
