Restaurant near 500 Canal St - business dinner

We are trying to plan a business dinner for the week of May 5th. We are staying at the Sheraton on Canal street. We would love a place with a private room that we can reserve. It needs to fit at least 15 people. Something nice (but not outrageously expensive), serving local cuisine and close to the hotel is preferable.

Palace Cafe is right across Canal. But you're also within a short walk of virtually all the restaurants in the French Quarter and the CBD. Not sure of the private dining scene of many restaurants, but I'm sure many of the Brennan's places like Palace or Bourbon House could accommodate you. Not that I'm an endorser of Brennan's establisments per se. I just know they tend to do a lot of business business, if you will. For less expensive fare, Acme has a pretty cool private room upstairs that's perfect for 30 or so, but might be a little large for 15. Hope this helps.

I have not been to Palace Cafe but have heard nothing but good things from a friend who frequents the place.
