Going to Nobu tonight for dinner. What to do?
I know I am going to the wasteland known as Nobu (La Cienega) for Peruvian Asian food. What is good to get for a guy who loves sushizo and kiriko? Luckily this is a client dinner, and I will enjoy the food minus the bill.
If it were me, I'd stick to the Matsuhisa classics, and go mainly for cooked rather than raw items. The sushi will probably not impress, but there's nothing really wrong with a classic Nobu meal of salmon skin salad, squid pasta, black cod in miso, tiradito, etc. This stuff really was cutting edge cuisine, 15 or 20 years ago, and even if it's now more "retro" it can still be enjoyable.
