Tempura Cheesecake in Philly

Katina Apr 27, 2008 08:02 PM

I had the most delicious "Japanese style" dessert in Palm Beach, Florida while on vacation known as tempura cheesecake. I cannot get it out of my head and I am desperately trying to find a restaurant in the Philly/'Burbs area that may carry it. Does anyone know a place that serves this little slice of heaven?

Can someone please help me out? My birthday is on Friday and I'd really love to have a piece for this occasion. Thanks!

Your post caught my eye, because an out-of-town friend recently mentioned having read an article about deep-fried cheesecake in Philadelphia. I did a search, and fried cheesecake appears to a specialty at Aspen. Not sure if that's what you're looking for.

Thank you! Fried (and not tempura) may be the closest I get.

Sorry, but there is a little cafe that specializes in Cheesecake. Darling's Cheesecake Cafe at 20th and Pine. Some of the best include bananas foster cheesecake, belgian chocolate ganache cheesecake, and peanut butter cheesecake. Thank you.

Probably not exactly what you're looking for, but the Xando at the Bubble House in University City *might* be close...
