Looking like Dar Bar may be a winner - -

and yes - Groton is doable too!

Thali's buffet is supposed to be fantastic and "not ordinary", but only for Sunday brunch.

Thali in New Haven has an amazing Sunday brunch buffet. A little pricey but absolutely worth it. They have a custom dosa station! What more could you want! Just off the highway at the Downtown New Haven exit on the corner of George and Orange.

I have not done the brunch but if you read my recent review, I was quite impressed with Thali. I think it could be better than Darbar. It was about two years ago when I last ate there.

I second Darbar in Branford, foods great, easy to get to.

If you can extend your range a wee bit, try Mirch Massala on 184 in Groton.

It's been a while since I've been there, but this place was excellent.

            Darbar.

In Branford, exit 55 on I-95, take a right at the end of the exit ramp, then a left where Main Street splits off.

Buffet or standard dinner, you'll not do better than to go to Darbar.

(Disclaimer: I have NO connection to Darbar except that of a happy customer.)

agree with darbar - very good indian food - however I believe their buffet is only Fri - Sun lunch. I prefer the order off the menu choices more.

              here is their lunch menu:
