Looking for a truly good restaurant in Bergen County

We had dinner at Blu in Montclair last night and had the kind of meal where we passed around tastes of everything because it was all so good. The restaurant vibe and menu reminded us of Relish in Sparkill, NY; well thought out menu, helpful, knowledgeable staff etc. Why don't we have anyplace like this in Bergen County? Everything is so generic or so old school Italian...we like Axia and Oceanos but they are not in the same league as Blu.

How about Cafe Panache in Ramsey. Kevin is a great chef who changes his menu with the seasons. It is consistently good and don't forget to BYO wine.

Have you tried the village green in Ridgewood? I was really pleased with the meal I had there a couple years ago. Also Have not tried, but have wanted to: Chef's Table in Franklin Lakes...Seen lots of good reviews, and it's on my list.

What is the menu like at Chef's Table? Is it traditional French? I'm looking for a place that has a contemporary vibe and big flavors.

We have nothing like Blu in Bergen County because Montclair is so close! :-)
Glad you enjoyed my favorite restaurant in NNJ...I think Zod is a fantastic chef!
