SEA: Best restaurant for a party?

StripperingGourmet Apr 27, 2008 12:55 AM

I'm planning a welcome home party for a close friend and would love to reserve a restaurant for this private event. I've been racking my brain for the perfect spot; I want something that will have areas where people can sit and congregate and interact but I also want the atmosphere to encourage mingling and lots of movement from here and there. And preferably downtown or possibly even Capital Hill. I'm leaning towards Tavolata or Cafe Presse or maybe Restaurant Zoe but I'm curious to see what other suggestions come up. A good bar is a must and as the party will be happening in August an outdoor area would be fantastic too but it's not really necessary.

Think hard; give me your best shot! LOL. =)

Sorry it took me so long to add some info! I have been without a computer or the internet for a good while. I'm thinking the party is going to be around 25-35 ppl so some space would be great.

We've rented out Serafina before, perfect in the summer as they have that fantastic outdoor patio and also a stage if you want live music

Try this: www.solerepairshop.com its behind quinn's, I'm pretty sure the food comes from there. I wasn't at a catered party there, but the space is beautiful and great for parties, and I think that it would be perfect. They have a menu, so I think the food comes from quinn's nect door, and then you can have the whole space...

That is very cool! When we were at Moe Bar one night, there was a party going on there and it looked like a great space.

Qube has a private lounge with creative cocktails. Food & wine list are fab too.

Went to a birthday party at qube and it's a good spot for a cocktail party. We had about 30+ people and plenty of drinks and tasty hor's douvrus.

My best friend had his wedding reception at Nectar in Fremont. The owner is a super-nice and pretty flexible guy. Maybe not as fancy as other places, but its definitely a good mingling space.
