I will second the kudos for DaDa crabcakes. I grew up on the waterfront in Freeport, Long Island so I believe (with all humility) that I know a thing or two about seaood and crabs... and I was very leery of ordering them. I happened to be at DaDa with a colleague from Baltimore - so we were ALL skeptical. We told the manager (Sean, this was 2 yrs ago) and he said "OK I'm bringing you one on the house, if you don't think it's the best ever I'll eat my hat" (or words to that effect). And well, it was really really good. My Maryland friend immediately ordered them as his entree!

    2. It's not in Palm Beach County, but it's in North/Central Broward.

Caps Place. They crab cakes are not on the menu, but they have been a "special" there for as long as I can remember. I've haven't been once in the last 3 or 4 years, that they didn't have them.

They are some of the best Crab Cakes I've ever had. Virtually no filler, but be prepared to pay for it, they are not cheap. Last time I was there the meal was 34 bucks (2 crab cakes). Check the website for general details you do get a choice of salad, and a few other choices. Also the atmosphere and experience is most of going to Caps anyway. Riding the Boat from the parking lot to the restaurant, as well as all the history, are really neat.

Sorry for the rambling note, was in a hurry, and probably should have saved this for later:
