Where to buy carbon steel wok in GTA?
I'm looking for a carbon steel wok with a round bottom, brand name or looks doesn't matter, as long as it's good quality and will last (preferably restaurant grade).
Any suggestions for stores I can buy locally in GTA (preferably North York, Scarborough or nearby).
I see some in chinese grocery stores (don't know about their quality)., and awhile back I've come across one chinese restaurant supply store on Kennedy just south of Steeles, but I haven't been back there in awhile.
Thanks.

Some cooks swear by hammered carbon steel woks. They seem to be slightly heavier, and diffuse the heat differently. I don't know how much longer we will have them, as hammered copper has all but disappeared, and hammered cymbals are also rare. Too much painstaking hand labour, yet the price is still reasonable.

I found a lot of the 16" hammered carbon steel woks (round bottom) at a chinese restaurant supplies store in Scarborough (just south of Pacific Mall). It was pretty big and heavy, probably good for for big families. I ended up getting a 14" wok, only $16 + tax. It comes in a wood handle or all steel handle. I was worried the steel handle would get too hot while cooking.

Thanks for this address. I'll probably drop by to pick up a new wok in the very near future. :)
For the time being, I've dug out a very old wok which has rust at the exterior's bottom and some rust inside. How do I remove the rust??? Can I salvage this wok and start using it again for cooking ASAP?
Suggestions anyone?

Dunno about the north part of town but I have a great one I got at Tap Phong on Spadina Avenue for something silly like $15. It took some work to get it seasoned, but it's on the list of things I'd save in a fire after the dogs, the laptop and the Tim Curry-autographed Rocky Horror album.
