Sorrel at USQ Farmer's Market Today!

I was so happy to see it as I've been waiting ... now I can make garlic & sorrel soup. Several vendors had it, though I did not buy it from the one selling it for $12 for 1/4 pound. Also the first asparagus that I've seen this season - from New Jersey. No favas or fresh peas, but I bought them at Garden of Eden, along with some fresh morels, for a dinner party tonight.

I've definitely seen pea shoots there, but I think at the horribly expensive place. They do have beautiful baby arugula though.

I wish I had seen this earlier! I am looking for sorrel leaves to make salmon with sorrel sauce (parisien version). Which vendor had it at the best price? What was the best price? Thanks.

Anyone is looking for pea shoots should check the larger Asian supermarkets. It helps if you have a car, but I shop at Great Wall Supermarket in Brooklyn every Saturday, and pea shoots are always available at around $2.79/lb. Their prices are incredible on just about everything. If you make it out their, be sure to also stop at Circus Fruits on Fort Hamilton Pkwy- they had organic artichokes recently two for $1.00!!
