What and where to eat in San Jose, Costa Rica?

Going to San Jose, Costa Rica in June for work.
This is my first trip there.
I checked the board and Bakea seems to be THE place to go.
Any dining suggestion other than Bakea in San Jose, CR?
Thanks.

    1. The Hotel Grano de Oro in San Jose was also one of those great places that shouldn't be missed by any foody. Their 5 cheese plate had some fantastic local cheeses. The salad Silvestri was perfection- blackberries, arugula, gorgonzola, sugared macadamias, strawberry vinaigrette deliciousness - whipped potatoes with ginger sauce. The tropical seed encrusted chicken and not to be missed, their 5 chocolate plate for dessert. I could go on and on but if you are in town don't miss it! It's also the nicest hotel in San Jose!

                      1. fine dining in costa rica is a rarety and the cost of a good meal equals or is more than a nice meal in the States. Cafe Torino in Escazu in the Rio del Plaza commercial strip is consistently good. Nice friendly service; a pleasant atmosphere. Also there's a cafe/antique shop in Sabana Norte 2oo meters north of the Subway that is a real find.
The British chef does a fantastic job; prices are reasonable. I'd rate this currently as the best place to do fine dining in the Central Valley.
