Gold Coast Changes

The oyster bar and Italian restaurants are closed.

Kevin Wu, the owner of Ping Pang Pong, will be opening a noodle-oriented place in the Charlie's Oyster Bar space. Should be an upgrade.

  1. How is Ping Pang Pong? I always forget to try it, butI am going to Vegas tomorrow, and I plan to be sure to get to it this time.

I was there a couple of weeks ago and was pleasantly suprised. Although I only had one dish, a big bowl of noodle soup, it was very good. The majority of diners appeared to br Asian, which I took to be a good sign. One large family in the center of the room was sharing plate after plate of incredible looking dishes. I wished I could join them.

I've only eaten at Ping Pang Pong once and it was inconsistent, but we might have ordered wrong. Many reports have been positive and GC is increasingly catering to a Chinese clientele.

      2. I had Dim Sum there with a group. I think we were the only non chinese there! It was really good and a fun time. They just come around with little carts loaded with food and when you pick a dish they mark it on your card. Btw, in the coffee shop they serve a Wor Won Ton noodle soup that is really good. It has chicken, shrimp, bbq pork, green veggies won tons and noodles in a huge bowl.

        1. The Cortez Room is now where the Italian place used to be. One of the dealers told me that they were going to tear out the old room and the show room to put in more slot machines.
