Hi all you chowhounds

My husband and I have an opportunity to eat anywhere in London with a business client and her husband. We wanted to give his client a couple of restaurants to choose from. So far my husband picked the River St Cafe and I don't remember the name, but he said it is the best Indian restaurant in London. I also found Zuma, Amaya and Maze.

We are are all fairly young (in our 30s) and don't want anything too stuffy - just a great food experence in a nice atmosphere - cost for this one night doesn't matter :)

The dinner is on a Sunday, and it seems that could be an issue for some restaurants. I already eliminated some (hibiscus, the ambassador).

Any help is appreciated

thanks!

Hi there,

If your husband is suggesting Benares GO! http://www.benaresrestaurant.com/

As you can see from their site it's got a Michelin star, and head chef Atul Kochhar is rather famous and very respected here.

Another restaurant I'd suggest is Pont de la Tour as the food is excellent and the views are amazing. At present our friends are raving about Hush Brasserie. St Johns also has an excellent reputation.

It's also worth browsing Top Table as you can get some amazing deals -http://www.toptable.co.uk/.

Hope this helps!

Hi There,
Zuma is great if you like Asian Fusion cookery, there other restaurant is called Roka and i think the food there is better than Zuma, in fact its my wifes favourite restaurant and best ever meal.
i had a great lunch at Theo Randall in the Intercontinental Park Lane recently, good regional italian food from a chef who used to be at the River Cafe.

Hope these help.

Hi,

For some great no nonsense food, goto St John's Bread and Wine in Farringdon. Excellent food. The chef Fergus Henderson is into Nose to Tail Eating.
Check out the website.

Enjoy

Locanda Locatelli is great - lovely glamorous room, fab italian food and wine list. Nahm - extraordinary and pricey Thai is an amazing experience and open on sunday night - if you don't make it there try one of the Busabaeathai places on your own credit card. Have a great trip.
