Dinner with in-laws in Boynton Beach Area

We will be celebrating my mother-in-law's 80th birthday in the Boynton Beach area at the end of May. We'd appreciate any suggestions for a restaurant that will please my less than adventurous in-laws yet not bore us to tears. Thanks.

  1. I think the Sundy House in Delray would be a good choice. Reserve the outdoor gazebo for a dusk time dinner. The tropical gardens are delightful, take a stroll by the pool - it's a cenote with fish. Your mother-in-law would enjoy wandering around the house too. It was the home of one of Delray's best known mayors; my 91 year old mother loves the place but remembers the Sundys as strict teetotalers who probably wouldn't approve of the bar. My daughter and son-in-law also love the place so all generations are happy. The food is acceptable; prices are fairly high but you're paying for the atmosphere. Actually, the appetizers are the best buy - I've ordered them as main course. I think you'd find it a memorable 80th birthday.

Sundy House is great suggestion and I will second it. This is a gorgeous property that will impress anyone. Be sure to walk around the grounds before or after dinner. Evening should still be cool enough in late May for outdoor dining. Johnny V (Now in Ft Laud) was chef here for a few years but has moved on of course.
