Can anyone reccomend a place to grab a quick after work drink with friends in Mt Airy OTHER than McMenamin's? With Germantown Ave all torn up we are trying to avoid going up into Chestnut Hill. Thanks.

EBB, Earth, Bread and Brewers should be opening soon one block East of McMenamin's on Germantown Avenue. They will feature their owns beers (brewed on the premises) along with some host beers and supposedly an outstanding wine by the glass selection. Will do brick oven pizza too. I'm psyched.

How likely is it that Mount Airy will become the next Manayunk (and is that a good thing)?

Thanks

i don't really see it happening. just a matter of access - the drives, 76, ridge ave. all get you pretty close to main st. where would mt. airy draw its customers/visitors from? that said, there's definitely room for an increase in what's there, both on g-town and in that little area by the coop.

I bring this up because I know that for some during weekends McMenamin's is a destination (and obviously NXNW is too). EB&B will definitely be more of a destination than either NXNW or McMenamin's I think. I imagine particularly the first year the traffic and parking being a nightmare during weekends.
