Brunch or Lunch Suggestions for a Sunday

We are four girlfriends who are looking for a place where we can sit outside, enjoy good food (healthy options would be a plus) and each others company without being rushed out the door. Must be open Sundays. It does not have to be fancy just good!

  1. Any particular part of town?

Oops! We are not particular about part of town so long as it's in the GTA and surrounding areas.

    2. I went through the brunch dilemma last Sunday. Since Mildred Pierce disappeared it has been tough. I know Thuet has a great brunch (not cheap) and they do have a little front patio area on the street. Nothing with a substantial patio where they serve brunch. Globe Bistro has a rooftop patio that is supposed to open this week. Globe has a great brunch. There are a lot of great patios downtown, but nobody serves brunch really. ONE has an awesome patio. They certainly serve lunch there, not sure if they do a brunch menu Sundays

      1. If you all like vegetarian food, you can check out the patio at Fresh at Queen and Trinity Bellwoods park and sit on the patio there.
ViVetha Bistro on Queen in the Beach has a patio and reliable (if not out of this world) food.
Both will be busy on a nice day and you'll probably have to wait for a table, but neither, in my experience, will rush you out the door.

Mocha Mocha on the Danforth. Patio is right on the Danforth which I don't particularly care for but it is a popular spot. The food is great, very fresh and tasty.

        2. Brassaii on King West has a great Brunch and Patio....may need rez....also Le Select on Wellington great Brunch and Patio....and Alice's on College near Ossington has a great Brunch and tho no Patio has Front Doors completely Open to the Street...nearly a Patio...and the Waterside Cafe at foot of Parliament Street...has an okay Brunch...but free parking and a most amazing Patio/Deck right on the Lake......Miranda

Thanks for all of your replies! We have chosen Globe because of the ROOFTOP patio!!!! How exciting to be outside and not consume direct fumes from cars while eating a tasty meal! I will definitely post my findings....the menu looks fabulous! Does anyone know if we need reservations?

            1. re: zengirl18

About Globe....I don't believe they are taking reservations for the rooftop patio AND you should know it only seats 17. I also understand that they are only serving finger food on the patio, not the menu from the dining room. Apparently they do not have a permit to cook up top. Just some things you ought to consider.

Thanks millygirl, you are a lifesaver! Okay, back to reviewing all of the other suggestions...

Czehoski has a rooftop patio and a Sat/Sun brunch menu -

678 Queen St W, Toronto, ON M6J, CA

Yeah Czehoski. And speaking of them, Coca has a cool little patio too, Do they offer lunch/brunch? Globe's patio has like 40 seats and did lunch and brunch last fall. Did not take reservations for the patio. First come first served.

I just called Globe to check. They are opening their patio tonight. They do serve brunch on the patio but they do not take reservations...
