During our 10 day trip to NYC the g/friends and I think it may be fun to spend a Saturday exploring the local flea markets ie. The Garage in Murray Hill & Annex Antique Fair & Flea market in Hells Kitchen. We realise this will be hard work and that we will need to take a leisurely lunch break to rest and rejuvenate. Would appreciate your suggestions where to stop for a nice pub lunch. Delicious burgers & steaks a must and of course a conveniant location between the two markets.

Thanks in advance.

  1. well, because you specified that location and "steaks", the obvious choice is the pub room at Keen's's at 36th, just east of 6th Ave, so right in between your flea markets...

it's less expensive than the main dining room (it's located in between the main dining room and the bar) and offers smaller portions of prime rib and steak, a yummy fried chicken and blue cheese salad, great beer and whisky selection...cozy and historic building too and the restaurant's been in operation since the 19th century and is full of antiques, old paintings, etc...a little more expensive than the average pub but not by much...

Thanks Simon, will deffinetly consider Keen's. What about Molly's pub? however, i'm not sure if it is conveniantly located to either of the flea markets?

Molly's is not too far away from the Garage. It's on 3rd just south of 23rd Street, and the Garage is on 25th just west of 6th, so it'd be a few blocks walk, but not too far. Wrong direction from Hell's Kitchen though.

love molly's. bacon cheeseburger and onion rings. perfect pint of guinness to wash it all down. a wonderful pub. take the time to introduce yourself to the barkeep before sitting down.

    2. Although not a pub-Hill Coutry is right there and so good!! BBQ and beer.

      1. Pete's Tavern on Irving Plaza (17th ish)....Hands down...
