Searching for Sushi Pizza - Central, NJ

I discovered sushi pizza while on a business trip to Toronto. A crisp sushi rice cake topped with salmon and/or tuna, it was fantastic. Since that trip I have been on the hunt for the same amazing sushi experience in NJ. I work in Berkeley Heights and live in Middletown so if anyone has any suggestions near either I would love to hear from you.

Bank 34 in Somerville (Pan-Asian) has “smoked salmon pizza with horseradish cream ($10) The pizza, served on rice flour flatbread, turned out to be an interesting translation of this favorite's sturdier traditional version. The pizza is also available for the same tariff in a sushi-grade raw tuna rendition with wasabi cream and pickled ginger”. I have had the latter version and it rocked, excellent price value as well

Also, Aki Sushi in Port Monmouth (next to Super Foodtown on Rt. 36) has it as well. They are new and don't have a website yet, however, I have been there twice and it's really good. One of the better, if not the best*, sushi joints in the Bayshore area. Here is the description from their take-out menu:

Aki Sushi Pizza (10.95)
Crispy fried sushi rice cake topped w. tuna, salmon, yellow tail, white tuna, avocado, flying fish roe and chef's special sauce.

*Kanji is, still, by far the best in the region IMHO.

Kanji in Tinton Falls does a great rendition. Theirs is described as: " Pan-fried Japanese pancake topped with tuna, salmon, white tuna, green pepper, onion, and tomato in a spicy sauce topped with tempura chips." I've had it several times and it is in fact fantastic. Good Luck.

Kanji in Tinton Falls has it. Since everything I've had there is excellent, I would expect it's pretty good, too.
