The pub down on the Lakeshore, in Etobicoke? The claim to have good wings? Any opinions? I am a big fan of Duff, and once had the Armaggedon (sp?) record there, so I love the wings extra triple suicide! Any Sloppy Joe's patron here?

Not, but Sloppy Joe's was mentioned -- both for and against -- on this rather, ahem, heated thread about wings -

Well, I went there on Friday. Not very busy, but not bad. I decided to side step the wings and went with the chicken fingers with suicide sauce. Nice heat but not extreme by any standard. Staff were good and quick. If you are taller than 6 feet, don't forget to duck if you need to use the washroom. And my biggest disspointment, they don't sell any desserts, not even ice cream! Overall, passable, but not exciting. Oh, and there wings were HUGH!! I think it was like 10 wings make up 1.5 pounds!

I guess you missed the Defcon Deathmatch Day last year. What a great event. Makes Armageddon wings seem cool in comparison. You can now buy the Death Match MKII sauce - www.defconsauces.com. He claims it to be around 250,000 scoville's but I put way past 1 Million easily. Thing is he extract methods are unique so you don't get that extract chemical taste as much.

Oh, I am all over that!!! When is the next event!!! Bring it on!!

I am previous (original) Armageddon record holder. It was a friend and I that told the twins to put up a board ranking the top eaters. We held it for a while until some super crazy fireman was able to push back like 90+ of those big wings! The heat was not the problem, it was the volume!

Not sure this year. Was supposed to be the May long weekend but The Creator has another engamenet (he comes from New Jersey).

The Death Match is about heat not quantity (thank god). You can see all the details on their web-site www.defconsauces.com. I also co-run www.hotsauceblog.com and keep updates over there.
